ABOUT.
I’m Anneloes Leijssen, I’m a communication expert working in culture, art & social impact. With 15+ years of experience.

Great work speaks to you.
It goes beyond delivering a project, campaign, or strategy. It’s about building something real, something human.

That's why I put empathy and humanity at the core of my work. I focus on the motivations, stories, context, and values of the people, organizations, and communities I work with. That starts with listening. Understanding your challenges and goals. Then helping you move forward.

Wether I’m working on a campaign, a cultural initiative, media training, a public talk, a large-scale event, or an art exhibition, I always aim for emotional outcomes. They need to be felt, to 'click', and to add to the experience of your audience.

What I can help with:
-
Taking your project, platform, or team to the next stage
-
Designing and leading communication strategies
-
Delivering training or workshops
-
Developing partnerships and collaborations
-
Improving audience connection and engagement
Let’s make sure your work reaches the people it’s meant for.

Since moving to Penang in 2017 I’ve been working collaboratively with people, organizations and businesses, never lose sight of the goal: to move forward effectively and meaningfully.

I am the co-founder of two large initiatives in the region; Open Studios Penang, Malaysia’s largest open studios art event, and Lean In Penang, a community-driven platform helping women to achieve their ambitions.

Working in international settings, I’m used to bridging gaps. I make space for different perspectives and find ways to build understanding across backgrounds.
I hold a Bachelor's in Communication Sciences and a Master's in Popular Culture and Media Entertainment from the University of Amsterdam. To deepen my perspective on media, gender, and cultural narratives, I specialized in converging media and women in media at the University of Copenhagen - where I explored how stories shape perception, identity, and influence in today’s world.
