Anneloes Leijssen is a creative strategist and communications advisor with over 15 years of experience, working internationally from Penang, Malaysia.
She initiates and leads programmes in culture, sustainability, gender equality, and public health, providing creative direction and cross-cultural collaboration to strengthen reach, identity, and impact.
Across Europe and Asia, she supports boards, government leaders, and CEOs on strategic positioning, public engagement, campaigns and media relations.
As co-founder of Open Studios Penang, Malaysia’s largest open studios art event, she built a welcoming, not-for-profit platform. It opens artists’ studios, including everyday public spaces turned into creative spots, so everyone can visit.
Anneloes also co-founded Lean In Network Penang. She designed programs that support women’s leadership, career advancement and open conversations on gender equity.
She holds a Master’s in Communications Science and Popular Culture from the University of Amsterdam, with a major in Media Studies completed at the University of Copenhagen.
